Oscars Fashion – The Top Ten Stunners

It is that time of year again – The Academy Awards have come and gone leaving us with a whole new range of red carpet looks to swoon over. Let’s be honest, this is one of the main things we follow awards season for and this year did not disappoint! From Old Hollywood Glam, to more edgy trends, the ladies of Tinsel Town have us in awe.

Here are our top 10 picks who truly slayed the Oscars red carpet this year:

01. Taraji P. Henson

No one slays like Taraji (follow her Instagram account if you don’t believe me) and she sure made my heart beat with her look. Combining glam and sexy in the way that only she can be representing Best Picture nominee Hidden Figures. Designer Alberta Ferretti is known for creating style icons, and that is just what Taraji was in her custom blue velvet gown.

02. Emma Stone

While Emma Stone’s highlight of the night was winning the award for Best Actress thanks to her incredible performance in La La Land, her dress came a close second. Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy’s creative director will soon step down from his role, but lucky for us not before he designed the stunning 1920’s flapper inspired gown which channeled La La Land’s retro theme.

03. Priyanka Chopra

Brown ladies represent! Priyanka makes all us South Asian women proud as she kills it every single time she steps on to a red carpet – and this Oscars was no exception. In a stunning pearly white Ralph and Russo dress, Ms. Chopra had perfect flowing straight hair and the million dollar smile to match.

04. Chrissy Teigen

While the stunning model makes us laugh with her goofy ways, no one can deny that when she does sexy she does it like no one else can. She checked off all the Oscars dressing boxes in white Zuhair Murad gown with intricate gold beading, a floor-length cape, and one of her red-carpet must-haves: a very high slit.

05. Michelle Williams

What I loved about Michelle’s look was the sheer simplicity of it all. She stuck to the dramatic plunging neckline and kept the rest of her look clean and simple. You can never go wrong with Louis Vuitton and Michelle certainly had heads turning on the red carpet that night.

06. Karlie Kloss

White seemed to work for many of the women on the red carpet – and Karlie Kloss was no exception. Wearing Stella McCartney dress, Nirav Modi jewelry, and carrying a Roger Vivier clutch, Karlie embodied high fashion and gets a special nod for the blue ribbon (symbolizing support for The American Civil Liberties Union) pinned on her hip.

07. Anita Patel

Firstly – can we just chorus ‘awwwss’ that Dev Patel brought his mother as his date? Anita didn’t just show up either – she turned it up wowing hearts all over the world in her stunning sari. Yes ladies, that is right – she put all the high fashion watch lists on alert with her gorgeous beaded sari reminding us that staying true to your roots is always beautiful.

08. Nicole Kidman

Oh man is there anything that Nicole Kidman doesn’t look amazing in? Her nude-coloured Armani Privé dress, had a cross-back silver detailing that went across her shoulder blades and around her neck. But that is not how she ended the night, thanks to her straps irritating her she had her dressed altered into a halter neck in the middle of the awards. Now that is now real queens handle a crisis.

09. Naomie Harris

There is a reason white seemed a popular colour choice this year – and Naomie Harris reminded us that you can never go wrong with it. In a sleek, white sequined Calvin Klein, with hair to match, the dress also had a cape and a cheeky twist in mismatched shoes. We love it!

10. Charlize Theron

Metallic and glamour aren’t too often a combination that people can pull off but then again Charlize isn’t people, she is a goddess. She re-defined the rules of fashion in her flowing skirted, high-octane Dior dress and had the diamonds on her ears to match.
